Thaumiel SCPs are among the rarest and most interesting object classes on the wiki. They’re anomalies the Foundation actively uses to contain or suppress other anomalies and entities.
When I put together my list of the best SCPs of all time, I read a good number of them and often enjoyed them.
A lot of Thaumiel articles rank among the most complex and interesting on the entire wiki, and I suspect that’s down to their nature. These aren’t simply objects or entities sitting in containment. They’re deployed and turned against other, often far more dangerous things.
As rare as Thaumiel SCPs are, some are considerably better than others. Here are my ten favorites.

Meta Ike’s Proposal – The Solution by Jack Ike
One of the most interesting entries here, largely because it doubles as an Apollyon SCP. If you read the article, you’ll soon understand why it’s that special. The Solution is probably the most complex and ambitious Thaumiel SCP on this list. It’s superbly written, but you’ll most likely need multiple readings, or have a look at the declassified thread on Reddit to fully understand it. Once it clicks, though, you’ll see what a fantastic piece of work it is.
SCP-179 – Sauelsuesor by Dr Reach
One of the first Thaumiel SCPs I ever read. I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, but truly came to enjoy it by the end. It centers on an entity out in space that protects not just humanity but the planet itself. The intriguing ending and its many implications are what I enjoyed the most.
SCP-2000 – Deus Ex Machina by HammerMaiden
One of the most popular Thaumiel SCPs. It’s not only heavy on scientific detail but also changed the SCP universe forever. Before that, the Foundation was a secret organization containing dangerous objects. After it, the organization was revealed to be far more powerful, because the machine beneath Yellowstone is exactly that: a Deus ex machina. An outstanding article that became a cornerstone of Foundation lore.
SCP-2003 – Preferred Option by Kalinin
Preferred Option was one of the first Thaumiel SCPs that dealt with different dimensions and realities, though it isn’t really about those. It’s about using them to predict and reshape the future, which makes it one of the most interesting on the wiki. What truly elevated it, though, was the final addendum.
SCP-2932 – Titania’s Prison by djkaktus
Titania’s Prison is a Thaumiel SCP that’s part of djkaktus’ universe. I’m not the biggest fan of Project Paragon, and I enjoyed this one, regardless. Like most of his work, it’s extremely well written. The titular prison is a place similar to the Foundation itself, built to hold powerful beings, and it works well even outside the Kaktusverse. The highlights were the descriptions of the many prisoners.
SCP-3000 – Anantashesha by A Random Day, djkaktus, and Joreth
Anantashesha is one of the best Thaumiel SCPs, and one of the best articles on the entire wiki. It starts slowly but builds into something remarkably complex and engaging. It’s not merely about an anomalous entity, but about personal journeys, religious belief, the deterioration of memory, and much more.
SCP-5004 – Megalomania by djkaktus
Probably the weirdest Thaumiel SCPs on this list: a silly, ridiculous comedy piece in the lolFoundation style, full of South Park-flavored humor. Megalomania is almost impossible to summarize it. It features a demon summoned in the early 20th century, the 2016 election and the Foundation’s plan to manipulate it, Donald Trump, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a witch. It’s certainly something, and it won’t be for everyone, but I had a great time reading it.
SCP-5935 – Blood and the Breaking of My Heart by djkaktus
Another Thaumiel SCP from djkaktus, and possibly my favorite of his. It can get confusing, and you’ll likely finish it with quite a few questions, but it’s still a fantastic read. What I love is the writing, the way the story unfolds, and its emotional weight. An atmosphere of sadness and desperation hangs over the whole thing, culminating in a tale of how far a father will go to save his son. It’s a genuinely powerful piece, and one of the best on the wiki.
SCP-6666 – The Demon Hector and the Dread Titania by djkaktus
One of the most complex and ambitious Thaumiel SCPs on this list, and with djkaktus writing it, the prose is outstanding. It’s packed with world-building and references a range of other SCPs, some from his universe and some not. The revelation about SCP-343 was fantastically done and very satisfying. I had mixed feelings about the changes to SCP-1000, and the new depiction felt a bit too different from the original. That didn’t dent my enjoyment much, though, and I still think it’s among the best Thaumiel SCPs on the wiki. It’s essentially reading for any fan of djkaktus out there.
SCP-6820 – TERMINATION ATTEMPT by Placeholder McD
Another article that doubles as Apollyon and Thaumiel. It was created to solve one very specific problem, then spins out of control and causes plenty more. Anyone familiar with the wiki will notice something about its number: it’s a love letter to the old days, the era of termination logs, and a time when indestructible reptiles reigned supreme. It’s also one of the most complex and in-depth articles on the wiki. The writing, the details, the descriptions, all of it’s all outstanding. Any fan of the wiki and its lore should read it.
