When I started putting together my list of the best SCPs, I assumed the wiki was built entirely on horror.
To my surprise, it turned out to hold a whole range of genres. Alongside creepypasta-style articles, there’s science-fiction, meta-fiction, and a lot more.
One of the most unexpected kinds I found were comedy SCPs. They’re rare, and they can be absolutely fantastic. Here are my eleven favorites.

SCP-1313 – Solve for Bear by MaliceAforethought
Some SCPs are funny, some are a little silly, and then there’s Solve for Bear, probably the most ridiculous comedy SCP I’ve come across. It describes what happens if you solve a certain mathematical equation. While this comedy SCP is dumb and absurd, it’s also absolutely hilarious.
SCP-1755 – Cotton Blight by Anaxagoras
Cotton Blight is another utterly ridiculous comedy SCP. The article plays it completely straight at first, and the events are as devastating as they are interesting, right up until the ending, which is one of the funniest on the entire wiki. When I finished it, I literally burst out laughing.
SCP-1972 – Escort and Officer by Ihp and Djoric
One of the weirdest comedy SCPs I’ve read, and I love it. It centers on two alien organisms. The first is a multi-limbed entity working as an escort; the second, a metallic sphere, an officer sent to bring the escort to justice. The interviews with the two make it even stranger, and the ending had me at a loss for words. An absolutely weird comedy SCP, but one that’s similarly hilarious.
SCP-3045 – bzzip.exe by The Great Hippo
Bzzip.exe might be the strangest entry on this list. It’s a weird blend of comedy and bizarre, inventive horror. The increasingly simplified summaries of Hamlet had me laughing out loud. Then the last test log flips the tone entirely into something closer to horror. But it’s the earlier logs that make this one of the best comedy SCPs out there.
SCP-3740 – God is Dumb by djkaktus
One of djkaktus’ many standalone articles, unconnected to his larger universe. It details Ashur, the Assyro-Babylonian god of air, who would be extremely dangerous if he weren’t also gullible and a complete idiot. The containment procedure details how the research team tricks him into believing they are fellow gods. While not the most complex comedy SCP on this list, it’s extremely funny.
SCP-4498 – The Plurality of Lachlan Cairns by djkaktus
Anyone familiar with the wiki’s history remembers the lolFoundation era, and this takes you right back. Lachlan Cairns is a well-known character, and the article asks what would happen if more than one of him existed. The result is utter chaos, obviously, making this one of the best comedy SCPs I’ve read, and I loved it.
SCP-5004 – Megalomania by djkaktus
Another djkaktus piece in the lolFoundation vein. It packs in a lot, not all of which lands for me, though plenty is extremely funny: magicians, demons, Donald Trump, Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a witch, the 2016 election, and the Foundation’s plan to manipulate it. Megalomania is a fantastically mad comedy SCP, and one of the most ridiculous things on the wiki. While it’s not for everyone, those who enjoy silly, South Park-style humor will love it.
SCP-5106 – Goosed by DrAkimoto
I’m usually not much of a comedy fan, but Goosed is fantastic. It’s one of the funniest, most ridiculous comedy SCPs I’ve read. It’s very short and still had me laughing out loud several times. If you want something brief and hilarious, this is it.
SCP-5555 – Made in Heaven by A Random Day, Rounderhouse, and Uncle Nicolini
Possibly my favorite comedy SCP on the whole wiki, though it’s far from typical, and written like a crime-noir action story. Everette Mann is out for revenge against Fracis Fitzwilliams, none other than the administrator of the Foundation. I had an absolute blast reading and laughed out loud throughout. It’s an exciting, wild ride, closer to pulp than other SCP-articles, but man is it fun.
SCP-6556 – DINOVLOGS! by Dysadron and Pedagon
Most comedy SCPs are silly. DINOVLOGS! is utterly ridiculous. It concerns a YouTube channel called ‘TheLifeOfRex,’ documenting the daily life of a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex. If that weren’t enough, most of the article takes the form of a Zoom conference where academics earnestly discuss the channel’s uploads. Without a doubt, one of the funniest things on the entire wiki.
Captain Kirby’s Proposal – O5-13 by Captain Kirby
001-proposals are usually grand, high-concept, or elaborate origin stories. Not this one. It’s a genuinely funny take on the Overseer Council’s paranoia. I loved everything about it, had a blast reading it and rate it among the best proposals and comedy SCPs out there, which is a perfect article to close on.
